Ethics are necessary to protect the research participants from harm, researchers have a duty to respect the rights and dignity of research participants. To ensure that this occurs researchers have to abide by moral principles and rules of conduct within their organisation.

For my research project which is part of a MSc in Applied eLearning in DIT I have had to complete the following forms which acted as a guide:

  1. Risk assessment form

  2. Subject/s and/or researchers

  3. Fieldwork risk assessment

  4. Participant information form

  5. Participant consent form

I have found that completing the ethics section of this research project assisted me with focusing on all of the elements that needed to be considered when conducting any form of research.
