Social networking sites are described (O’Keefe & Clarke-Pearson, 2011) as any websites that allow social interaction; for example Facebook, Twitter, gaming sites and virtual worlds. Social networking sites are (McGillivray, 2015) an area where young adults are often too open and public with personal information. With the advent of Web 2.0 and mobile technology our ability to communicate has dramatically changed and the boundaries of time or location are no longer a restriction (Zhang, Jiang & Carroll, 2015).
