When developing my research question I used a heuristic device to help me to focus my questions and ensure that I was addressing:

  1. Who are the target audience? Young adults in an Irish community training centre.

  2. What do I want to investigate? What effect would an elearning resource informing young adults in an Irish community training centre of the impact of their digital footprint have and would it change the way the behave online into the future?

  3. Where will this research take place? In an Irish community training centre.

  4. When will I do my research? This resource will be delivered in October/November 2015.

  5. How will I generate evidence? I will use survey's and a focus group to generate evidence of the learning.

  6. Why should I choose this piece of data? To evaluate the value of this resource to young adults.

By using this device I was able to become more focused on each part of the research. I would recommend using a Heuristic device to all who are considering conducting research of any nature.
